Compulsive reading

Lex has this weird new “thing” he does with his
books. He’ll sit in front of his bookshelf for hours “reading”
every single book on the shelf and then stacking, piling, or
lining them up. The photos show a few configurations. I don’t
think he’s ever done the same one twice. One day they were in
front of the bookshelf, one day on the toybox, one day across
the floor, etc. It takes him awhile because he flips through
every page of every book and it’s very difficult to get him to
stop. It was funny the first time, now it’s just a little
weird. Toddlers are weird. I was talking to Julie this weekend about how
when you’re pregnant every weird feeling or behavior you have
can just be chalked up to the pregnancy. With toddlers it’s
pretty much the same thing — every weird thing they do can
just be chalked up to toddlerhood.

A few photos

Since Alan put Ubuntu on my computer I’ve
been a little slow to get photos off the camera. New software,
particularly a new operating system, always comes with a bit a
of learning curve. Anyway, here a few random photos from the
past few weeks.

We got
two similar boxes in the mail one day so we made the empty
boxes into a train. Lex was the conductor, Eve the
passenger.

Eve is a
very happy passenger.

Lex
reads a story to Grandpa Tom and Uncle Barney as they build us
a front porch.

Playing
together one morning. Lex was showing Eve each of the animals
from the ark.

Mema and
Eve

Lex and
Ellie at the playground. I tried to get them both looking a
time, but there was a motorcycle going by and apparently it was
far more interesting than me.

Lex on
the bleachers. He climbed right up to the top and made himself
comfortable.

Eve
sleeping.

My new favorite outfit

We went to Old Navy this weekend and I got this
off the sale rack. I love it and I think she does too :) We
actually went down to visit Jim and Julie, and did some
shopping while we were there. Oddly enough it didn’t take much
convincing to get them to come to Babies R Us and the kid
section of Old Navy with me ;)
