A few photos

Since Alan put Ubuntu on my computer I’ve
been a little slow to get photos off the camera. New software,
particularly a new operating system, always comes with a bit a
of learning curve. Anyway, here a few random photos from the
past few weeks.

We got
two similar boxes in the mail one day so we made the empty
boxes into a train. Lex was the conductor, Eve the
passenger.

Eve is a
very happy passenger.

Lex
reads a story to Grandpa Tom and Uncle Barney as they build us
a front porch.

Playing
together one morning. Lex was showing Eve each of the animals
from the ark.

Mema and
Eve

Lex and
Ellie at the playground. I tried to get them both looking a
time, but there was a motorcycle going by and apparently it was
far more interesting than me.

Lex on
the bleachers. He climbed right up to the top and made himself
comfortable.

Eve
sleeping.

My new favorite outfit

We went to Old Navy this weekend and I got this
off the sale rack. I love it and I think she does too :) We
actually went down to visit Jim and Julie, and did some
shopping while we were there. Oddly enough it didn’t take much
convincing to get them to come to Babies R Us and the kid
section of Old Navy with me ;)

Sleeping beauty

Eve slept from 10:00 last night to 8:30
this morning! She is such a good sleeper! I hope, hope, hope
this lasts through her toddler years :) Now if I could just get
my body to adjust to her less frequent nursing… which will
probably happen right about the time she hits a growth spurt
and starts nursing like mad. So hard to coordinate :) But I’ll
take my sleeping baby any day, or any night, to be more
precise!!

The best laid plans…

I have a full diaper bag, a picnic lunch,
blanket, and the works, all ready to go to a playgroup then a
picnic lunch and puppet show today. As I’m about to put Eve in
her car seat, Lex says “Don’t want playgroup. Want to stay
home. Want to read to myself.” Hmmm…. what can I say. “OK” So
here we are. Instead he spent the morning doing his new
favorite activity — “read” every book on the shelf and make a
huge pile as he goes. Luckily he’s a good boy and puts them all
away (with a little help) when he’s done. Then we had a picnic
lunch on the floor in the office. He was thrilled! I have some
pics but I’m having technical issues so I can’t get them up at
the moment. Maybe later.

Crib

I forgot to mention in my previous post,
to celebrate Eve’s 4mo birthday she is now sleeping in her
crib. Last night was her first night and she made it all the
way through! Well, she technically woke up at 4:30am, but I
went in and reswaddled and replugged her and she went right
back to sleep. Nice and easy. I’m not sure who woke whom up,
but they were both wide awake and raring to go at 6:00am this
morning. Hopefully that doesn’t continue! :)

The Missing Blanket

Lex’s favorite blanket seems to have
disappeared into thin air. I’m very confused by this. The poor
boy has had to fall asleep twice now without it and he’s none
too pleased. Actually, he cries about it but it doesn’t really
seem to have much affect on the total time it takes him to
settle down and go to sleep. We have searched high and low and
in all sorts of random places. I’m eager to find it just to see
the odd place he chose to hide it. I’ll keep ya posted.

My 4month old baby is doing so well. She’s so
happy and can now hold things in her hands and bring them to
her mouth. I think she has begun teething because everything
goes in the mouth, though she seems to prefer her hands best of
all. She also likes to be on her belly and push up to watch Lex
play. Today he brought toys over to show her and they really
seemed to be interacting. So sweet.

PS. Happy August!!!
