My belly is getting more and more sore these days and I think it’s because I keep bonking it into things (or things into it!) It’s hard to remember that it sticks out so far these days. I keep hitting it with doors and things (like the fridge door). I just tried to slide between a door and wall (sounds weird, I know, but we all do it) and poor belly didn’t fit :) Poor brain keeps forgetting that belly is much bigger than normal these days. And on that note… time for a snack! :)

Yay! I finally got Mike’s wedding pictures posted :)

I also figured I’d post a picture of the hospital room where baby zig will be born (or at least a room very similar). We visited the birthing center at the hospital last month, but I never got around to posting the picture.

Today is April 17th, which makes it exactly one month from my due date – May 17th. Let the countdown begin. Although, the midwives say a due date is really plus or minus 2 weeks, so I guess I’m anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks away really. Alan’s parents bought us a crib and changing table, which is very cool.

I tried very hard to get all of the photos from Mike’s wedding up this weekend. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. I have some ready, but I’m going to hold off posting until they are all ready :) We spent the weekend cleaning and then Alan took me out to dinner and movie tonight. Great way to end the weekend and prepare for a very busy upcoming week!

Belly is still getting bigger. I’ve even started to get stretch marks :( I found two so far, both little and right near my belly button. Both weird looking too, but I guess that’s how stretch marks are. I also have weird pains in that area, so maybe I’m just growing a lot right there. I’m sure as baby starts to move down I’ll have weird pains in all sorts of weird places. There’s something to look forward to, huh? :)

I guess that’s it for tonight. Like I said, busy week ahead. I’ll try to get those wedding pics up though.

It only took me 3 weeks, but I finally got a few minutes to post pictures from my baby shower. Belly doesn’t look big and round, but I think it’s just because I’m hiding it well. I should show it off more :)

Tomorrow I’m going to work on getting the wedding pictures from Mike’s wedding this past week up. There are a few good belly shots there. Even more shots of Mike and Andrea though :)

I have the coolest people at work. I got back to the office yesterday after a board meeting and they had set up a little surprise baby shower! It was so cool and completely unexpected! They decorated the kitchen and had a tasty cake (I’ll post a picture soon) and a great card and gift card. It was awesome. I couldn’t ask for a better FINOWEN team!

Went for our 35 SMA yesterday. Baby is measuring right on target (34/35 cm) and has even started to drop a bit. Good baby :) We have another appointment at 37 weeks for an individual exam. At that time we get a StrepB test (very interesting stuff, I know) and maybe even an exam to see if I’ve started dialating yet. That would be cool :) It’s all getting so close now…

The best thing about old friends is that after years apart it’s so natural to slide back into the grove of things. I love that.

We’re hanging out in Detroit this week for Mike’s wedding. Right now we’re keeping his house safe and fixing his wedding present (shhh…. don’t tell!). Rehearsal dinner is tonight. I think that’s when Alan is supposed to learn how to behave in church :)

Now I need to go paint my nails. More later!

There is so much going on that I want to write about, and yet so little time :( I’ll give a quick update tonight and hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to provide more detail.

Last Thursday we went to the hospital to see the Birthing Pavilion (part of the hospital where the babies are born :) ). It’s a pretty nice place, considering its a hospital. They try hard to make the room comfy despite the linoleum floors and hospital bed. It was interesting though and I was glad to go. I’ve been curious for awhile as to what the place looked like. It made the whole experience seem much more real and closer!

This past weekend I had my baby shower… and what a shower! :) I had a great time with the friends and family who attended. Alan’s mom, his sister, and my friend Julie all worked very hard and pulled together a fabulous party. I felt so special! I couldn’t ask for a better bunch of family and friends… *sniff* :)

I also now feel a little more prepared to have this baby. We have cloths and a car seat (so they will let us take the kid out of the hospital). We also have a swing, bouncy seat, bath tub, lots of toys and tiny little hats and booties. Baby zig is gonna be stylin’.

We ended the evening with dinner at Friendly’s and an animated discussion on girls names. We still haven’t decided on one. Maybe if zig is a girl we’ll look at her and a name will just come to us :) Hopefully!

This week is busy and getting busier. I’m trying to get all of the arrangements in place for a trip to Detroit next week. Though I’m sure Mike (the groom) and his lovely bride are worried about a lot more arrangements than I am :)

I also wanted to give a quick shout out to Stephenie, my co-worker, who not only does an awesome job at FINOWEN, but also gave me tons of maternity cloths! I’m now fully outfitted for the last few months :) I also found a cute dress that will work well for Mike’s wedding next week. That was a big relief! Thanks Steph!

Ok, that’s all for tonight. SO much to say, so little time. Maybe I’ll devote this weekend to putting together baby furniture (swings, and strollers, and car seats, oh my!) and updating the blog. That would be fun :) Probably I’ll spend it preparing to leave for vacation though :/

This is just a picture that David sent me. Pretty crazy, huh??? I’ve heard people say they could clearly distinguish body parts, but I’ve never actually seen it. So, I figured I’d share it with the rest of you crazy people reading this post :)

Happy, hoppy spring!! We even have lovely weather here to welcome the lovely new season. The past few days have been sunny and in the 40s! Keep this up and we might even see grass again someday :)

Alan and I spent the weekend cleaning the house and rearranging a bit. The goal was to make a guest room. And no, baby does not count as a guest – but there will be plenty of guests in the next few months and we thought a room would be appropriate. We succeeded there, but promptly determined that our house is one room too small. If we just had one more room everything would be perfect :)
