Eve is two months old today! Yay Eve! :)
We go to the doctor tomorrow for her two month checkup. Her
reward for surviving two whole months…. shots! Poor
baby.

Party time!

We had a fabulous party for Lex. The weather was
perfect, food was yummy, and lots of people came… even a few
kids :) Lex got lots of fun presents and we all had a good
time. Surprisingly, he even took a bath and went to bed very
happily! I was expecting a meltdown at bedtime (we forgot to
brush his teeth, so that probably helped things go more
smoothly). Here are a few pics and I posted the rest (207 of
them!!) online. There are also a few videos at the end.
His big presents included a swing set with a
slide (he loves slides!) and a kiddie pool full of colorful
plastic balls. That provided a great deal of entertainment for
the evening. We even had trouble getting him to open the rest
of the presents. Typically for a two year old, I’m sure. The he
splashed in his “ball bath” and Aunt Rosy and others helped him
take a “ball shower” and a spin through the “ball washing
machine.” A good time was had by all! Thanks to everyone who
came to help us celebrate! :)
Happy Birthday Lex!!
Lex turns two today,
Let’s
all stand up and say,
Hip, hip hooray, hip, hip
hooray,
Lex turns two today!
Me and my mom spent the day with
Lex and Eve getting pictures taken at The Picture People. It
was interesting. A little more challenging than our last
expedition there for Lex’s 1st birthday pictures. But, in the
end we got some great pictures, so it was all worth it, of
course :) Lex had a bit of a rough day that started with a face
plant into the battery pack on the bouncy seat, resulting in a
nice bruise on his cheek. Then a long drive in the car and
forced posing for the camera. But then he got to ride on the
merry-go-round so he ended up a happy camper. Tomorrow we have
his birthday party. He will be overwhelmed, but I think he’ll
have fun.

Two year checkup
We had a busy day with doctors this
morning. Lex went in for his two year checkup today. All is
well, of course. The doctor (a friend of a friend, small
world!!) said he is average on weight (29.5lbs) and height (I
didn’t catch the #) and advanced on verbal skills. No surprises
there. After that I went in for my six week checkup (a 7 1/2
weeks) and all is good there as well. No surprises. I won’t be
posting my height and weight here, but I’ll tell you it’s not
quite where it should be :)
Otherwise
not much to report. We’re living life and all that jazz.
Getting ready for a birthday bash this weekend. And Lex just
woke up from his nap so I’m outta here!
Busy two years
Yesterday, well two days ago now, I guess,
was the anniversary of Lex’s due date. Sort of a random thing
to remember, but it popped into my head that morning and I
couldn’t get it out. It’s amazing how much as happened in the
past two years. Just two years ago we were living in our
apartment, no kids, no job, and basically just hanging out
waiting on Lex. Now, just two years later, we have a house, two
kids, a fantastic job and life is so different. We spent so
much time on that business and it’s depressing what happened to
it, but I feel like it really put our personal life on hold and
I’m so happy with the progress we’ve made since then.
On the kid front, Eve is soooo smiley lately.
Especially at 3am :) She is also very strong. She was standing
up today (with some balancing help from me) and Lex was holding
her hands and they were dancing. So cute! Lex loves his little
sister but has done some interesting regressing since she’s
been born, most notably he refuses to sleep in his bed now.
Every nap and night he asks for his crib. He’s funny because he
usually ends up crying when we put him down and he knows how to
get out of his crib (though he hasn’t perfected the landing
yet!) but he rarely does. Instead he’ll cry, jump around, kick
the bars, and eventually fall asleep. He’s funny. We have to
get him out of the crib soon, though, because Eve will be
needing it. I knew that “big boy bed” transition was too easy
:)
Ok, back to bed for me. I have been
coughing so much all day and night that no one has been getting
much sleep. Hopefully this passes soon!
