37wk update

Went to my 37 week appointment today. This was an important one because they did a StrepB test (interesting stuff) and an internal exam (fun!). She said everything is looking good. Baby’s heartrate is around 142 and it went up when she shook the belly (probably gave poor zig a real start). I’m not dialiating yet (which I’m happy about), but that doesn’t really say much. I do have a nice soft cervix though :) (probably too much information for 99% of you out there ;) ).

I also may have a mild uterian hernia. Remember the other day when I said that baby is trying to come out a spot just above the belly button? The midwife said it’s probably just a mild hernia. Woo hoo! :/ She said it’s nothing to worry about though, unless it starts to hurt real bad. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. It started right around the time I got a stretch mark by my belly button, so I think zig probably moved funny and my belly wasn’t too pleased. So much going on in there!!

We also met the pediatrician (very nice lady) and preregistered at the hospital (lots of paperwork). So now we’re ready to go. Just need to clean the cars, put in car seats, rearrange the house, clean the house, build a crib…. Yep, see why we need more time???

Ok, now I have to go back to work. I have a very big and very messy desk that needs to be cleaned before I leave. Oh, yeah, and some work to do to keep FINOWEN running :)

Oww… my belly button!

I think this baby is trying to come out through my belly button! Actually, just above and to the left of it. Or else maybe I have some internal bruising going on (too many kicks from the inside?) I dunno, but I have this weird pain in my belly. I’ll have to ask the midwife on Thursday. Figured I’d share the news with all of you today though :)

Superman!

What a weekend. We went down to Ayer, MA to visit Jim and Julie in their new house. They have a great house. I’m jealous :) They also made us a very cool baby present – a knit Superman blanket! I think baby zig is going to love it!

Jim and Julie have new additions to their family as well – two bunnies. They are very friendly and very big bunnies. Maybe someday they will play nicely with the hampster too.

On the way back we stopped to visit Alan’s parents and make a trip to Babies R Us. Boy, baby stuff adds up quick!! Alan’s parents bought us a crib, so we bought sheets, and a baby carrier, and other goodies :) It was fun. We drove back home with a very full car. This week we get to put everything together, do a few more loads of baby laundry, and arrange baby’s room. Yay!!

I also have my 37 week appointment this week. I’ll keep you all posted on how that goes :)

Woohoo…

Guess what I can do?? C’mon, give it a guess…..

Ok, I’ll tell ya. I can sit a cup on my belly :) When I was a kid my mom had a friend who used to sit her coffee cup on her pregnant belly and I always thought that was the coolest thing. Today in the car I put my McDonald’s shake cup (I know, super healthy!) on my belly and it stayed right there. I drove down the highway with the cup just sitting there on my belly :)

I’m easily amused, what can I say.

Big belly gettin’ in the way

My belly is getting more and more sore these days and I think it’s because I keep bonking it into things (or things into it!) It’s hard to remember that it sticks out so far these days. I keep hitting it with doors and things (like the fridge door). I just tried to slide between a door and wall (sounds weird, I know, but we all do it) and poor belly didn’t fit :) Poor brain keeps forgetting that belly is much bigger than normal these days. And on that note… time for a snack! :)

Final Four

Today is April 17th, which makes it exactly one month from my due date – May 17th. Let the countdown begin. Although, the midwives say a due date is really plus or minus 2 weeks, so I guess I’m anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks away really. Alan’s parents bought us a crib and changing table, which is very cool.

I tried very hard to get all of the photos from Mike’s wedding up this weekend. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. I have some ready, but I’m going to hold off posting until they are all ready :) We spent the weekend cleaning and then Alan took me out to dinner and movie tonight. Great way to end the weekend and prepare for a very busy upcoming week!

Belly is still getting bigger. I’ve even started to get stretch marks :( I found two so far, both little and right near my belly button. Both weird looking too, but I guess that’s how stretch marks are. I also have weird pains in that area, so maybe I’m just growing a lot right there. I’m sure as baby starts to move down I’ll have weird pains in all sorts of weird places. There’s something to look forward to, huh? :)

I guess that’s it for tonight. Like I said, busy week ahead. I’ll try to get those wedding pics up though.

Baby shower pics

It only took me 3 weeks, but I finally got a few minutes to post pictures from my baby shower. Belly doesn’t look big and round, but I think it’s just because I’m hiding it well. I should show it off more :)

Tomorrow I’m going to work on getting the wedding pictures from Mike’s wedding this past week up. There are a few good belly shots there. Even more shots of Mike and Andrea though :)

FINOWEN baby shower

I have the coolest people at work. I got back to the office yesterday after a board meeting and they had set up a little surprise baby shower! It was so cool and completely unexpected! They decorated the kitchen and had a tasty cake (I’ll post a picture soon) and a great card and gift card. It was awesome. I couldn’t ask for a better FINOWEN team!

35 weeks

Went for our 35 SMA yesterday. Baby is measuring right on target (34/35 cm) and has even started to drop a bit. Good baby :) We have another appointment at 37 weeks for an individual exam. At that time we get a StrepB test (very interesting stuff, I know) and maybe even an exam to see if I’ve started dialating yet. That would be cool :) It’s all getting so close now…
