Fancy pants

Fresh out of the bath and trying to get
the two of them to stand still for a picture was impossible, so
I settled for both of them in the same shot :) Like the new
diaps? Hers even has an extra “super soaker” liner to see her
through the night.

Good day

Two good things today. 1) Diapers came in
the mail. Yay! They are so pretty :) I’ve been using my friend
Sarah’s for awhile now, but she only lent me 9, which was fine
for Eve, but not enough for both of them, so we’ve been going
about 3/4 of the day in cloth and washing every night. I bought
20 so hopefully we can wash every 1.5-2 days and not need the
disposables any more. Hopefully :) And 2) I went to the
chiropractor today and she didn’t hurt me. Yay! :) She didn’t
even do an “adjustment” yet. But she did some deep massage
(painful but oh, so good) and some electro-muscle something or
other that really made things feel better. I feel like a loser
going to so many doctors lately, but hopefully we can get this
pain gone sooner rather than later. I have an MRI scheduled for
two weeks out and I hope I can fix things before then so I
don’t have to have (and pay for) the MRI. Wish me luck
:)

Chiropractor

I’m going to the chiropractor tomorrow.
Wish me luck. I’m kinda scared. The idea of anyone cracking my
spine just doesn’t sound right. My physical therapist says it
won’t help, but she also said right out they are competing
practices. Weird, right? You’d think PT and chiro would be
complementary, working together to fix the problem. The
chiropractor, of course, said my problem sounds very common and
correctable with chiropractic work. Of course. We’ll see. I’m
just tired of being in pain, which makes me tired, sore,
irritated, etc. Alan and my friend Sarah both think it will
help, so I’m going to be brave and give it a shot. Hope she
doesn’t paralyze me!

Poker

Lex likes to play with cards (sorts them,
arranges them, etc.) and was thrilled when Alan offered to
teach him how to play poker. They started with learning the
cards. This little scene cracked me up because we’ve never done
flash cards with Lex and it’s amusing to start with poker cards
:)

After dinner Lex and I were talking about a
poker party. Wouldn’t that be a great 3rd birthday? All the
little kiddies playing cards… anteing with animal crackers :)
(I’m alone with kids all day and have to find ways to entertain
myself)

Outside!!

I’m so proud of myself, I got 4 kids into
snowsuits and outside today!!! It was 31 degrees and somewhat raining, but what the hell. We had fun.
I decided I’d put the babies in the stroller and somehow get
them onto the back porch, then the toddlers and I could play in
the backyard. All went well until I opened the back door. (see
picture) So we decided to go out front instead. We had to stay out front though, since I can’t
get the stroller through the snow into the backyard. Everyone
was pretty happy to just play in the driveway anyway. Lex
ventured over to our front porch, which clearly hasn’t been
shovelled in awhile. In the summertime he likes to climb up
onto the railing and ring the bell. Today he was amused that he had to bend down to
ring the bell :) Eve was less than thrilled by the whole
outing. I took her out of the stroller and put her in the
driveway, but she can’t really move in her snowsuit. Then (poor
girl!) a big hunk of snow fell out of the tree and landed right
on her head. It was awful. She wailed and I tried really hard
not to laugh. We got out without any screaming, stayed out for
45 minutes with minimal screaming, and made it back in again
with no fuss. I wish I could do that every day. I can’t wait
for summer when we can just go out without the 1/2 hr
prep.

Healty eating

Eve had broccoli, peas, and tofu for lunch
today. If only they would eat so healthy through the toddler
years too. She had some Cheerios and a frozen mini-waffle too
:) I was trying to get a picture of her tooth, but no luck. She
hides it well.

TMI!

Reader beware…. Although he isn’t
resisting the cloth diapers, it has taken Lex a few days to do
real business in them. Normally he goes several times a day and
I think he was getting backed up and saving it for his regular
Huggies Overnights. Not so anymore and I’ll tell ya, it’s a bit
more work with his dirty diapers than with hers! :)
