Telling the kids

I told the kids about Grandma yesterday after school. Lex was already grumpy (long, busy day at school) and when I said I had something to tell them he scooted off my lap and under the coffee table, insisting he did not want to hear. I told Eve, who was still snuggling on my lap. I asked Lex if that’s what he was expecting and he said yes, then grabbed a book and zipped upstairs. Eve snuggled for a bit then made an X with her fingers and said we should “put an X on thinking about sad things.” After a few more minutes I got up to go check on Lex (he was lost in his book) and Eve drew this on the white board.  She also took the picture for me. :)

On the left is what not to think about – people dying. On the right is what we should be thinking about – hugging fluffy bunnies. She is so sweet.
