Eve was awake far too late last night and woke up
early this morning… why?… because “I excited!!” “Lex, you
excited? Mommy, excited? I excited!!” Over and over. Why?
Because today was her swimming lesson :) The girl likes to
swim. I think she was one of the older babies in her class and
clearly very comfortable in the water. She blew bubbles (but
not when the teacher was looking!), put her chin and mouth in
the water (drank half the pool) and did lots of kicking and
splashing. We even practiced floating. She had a great time,
but kept asking if we could go to the Splash Park now. I think
it’s hard for independent kids to be in mommy’s arms for 1/2
hr. She just wanted to get down and go. Around the same age I
took Lex swimming a few times at an indoor pool and he loved
the water but hated that I couldn’t put him down. Today Lex
also did an awesome job! He had the choice of reading a book on
the bench next to the pool while Eve had her lesson, or going
to the daycare room. He choose the bench and sat perfectly and
read his magazine for her whole lesson. Their reward for such
good behavior? Time in the Splash Park!
