We’ve had a super busy week (few weeks, really!) and today we capped it off with a super busy Friday. Lex had school, of course, and Eve and I spent the morning running errands. I had a physical, complete with a tetanus shot. Eve was amazed that mommies get immunizations too (I guess she forgot about the flu shots). She held my hands and told me everything would be ok. Then happily collected a sticker from the desk for her hard work :) Then we ran some errands and made it home for a late lunch and nap. I insisted on a nap today and she just put up a token fuss. After a nice long nap, during which I was in the kitchen cleaning, prepping, preparing, baking, etc., we got Lex off the bus, had a quick snack then headed out for more errands. This time we had to go to Best Buy to get our fancy new Bluetooth device fixed. It had a loose connection making it such that using the Bluetooth was excellent, but using our radio or CD player was almost impossible. Anyway, we dropped off the car and then walked to the playground. It was a little scary (for me) walking along the busy road, but the kids did great.
When the car was done we dusted off the sandy feet and walked back. The kids buckled themselves into the car then proceeded to toss things at each other while I talked to the tech guy. Moments later Lex was in tears with blood running down his face. Apparently Eve had hit him with her hat and split his lip. I cleaned him up as best I could, climbed in the car, turned it on and got a big, bright PROBLEM light on the dash. Ugh. The tech had no clue so I dug through the manual until I found the icon. Can you guess what the solution was? “Immediately take the car to the deal for service.” Double ugh! I called Alan and the tech did some stuff and turned the car back on. Guess what? No light. He said he didn’t do anything, but whatever, the light went away and we went home.
Home for about five minutes to make PB&J for dinner and then back out to an Ice Cream Social at Lex’s school. It was FUN! The kids ran and Alan ran and I took pictures ;) A lot of Lex’s classmates were there and they had tons of activities. And ice cream, of course.
Home at 8pm for baths, showers, and bed. They’ll sleep well tonight! We all will (if I can ever get myself to bed!)
