Today was Walk\/Ride To School day.\u00a0 Close by kids walk or ride their bikes and the busses drop other kids off at the end of the mile long bike path between the village and the school.\u00a0 Kids usually enjoy it.\u00a0 It’s great exercise for them and a great way to get some morning energy out before class starts.\u00a0 We’ve missed it every week this school year so far.\u00a0 This morning we had the right combination of remembering, enough time, and interest.\u00a0 Three important factors.\u00a0 Alan even stayed home with Eve so that we could make it happen.\u00a0 Turns out it was COLD outside!\u00a0 It was about 31\u00b0 when we left.\u00a0 Lex and I made it about one house down the road before turning around to come back and dig some gloves out of storage.\u00a0 I guess I should bring the whole box of winter gear down soon :(\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Anyway, we rode and walked to school because Lex kept getting too tired to pedal anymore.\u00a0 Poor boy.\u00a0 We made it, and we were only about five minutes late!\u00a0 I left him with bright red cheeks and a runny nose.\u00a0 It was fun, but this might be our one Walk\/Ride To School day until spring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
