<\/a>Eve’s\n first trip to the Atlantic<\/span><\/div>\n
Eve and I took a last minute trip
\n to the Atlantic Ocean last weekend. My friend called Friday to
\n see if we wanted to join her and her baby (my daycare baby) for
\n a weekend in Wells, ME. It was fun. Alan and Lex stayed home
\n and ate PB&J; and the girls hit the beach. Ok, we really
\n hit the beach for about 10 minutes one day and 15 the next and
\n that was about it. Then we hit the outlet stores :) The weather
\n wasn’t exactly beach-worthy.<\/p>\n
<\/a>Fun on\n the kiddie ride at the outlet malls. I’m a boring mommy and I
\n don’t put quarters into the machines. They’ll figure it out
\n soon enough and start bugging me, so I figure it’s best to save
\n my quarters until then :) Eve had a great time just
\n pretending.<\/span><\/div>\n
We
\n got there Saturday afternoon and took the girls to the beach.
\n The tide was low and it felt like miles from the rocks to the
\n water. Eve had a great time running on the sand and chasing the
\n seagulls (she called them ducks). She did not like the water
\n though! It was COLD and I think the wave may have scared her.
\n On Sunday we had a brief break in the rain and we slathered on
\n the sunscreen and headed for the beach, only to find it was
\n high tide and the few feet of beach area was packed with people
\n and their stuff, all crammed up and waiting for the tide to go
\n out. We had fun for about 20 minutes, but then the clouds and
\n storm rolled in so we headed back to the hotel for naps. Again,
\n Eve was happy in the sand but screamed when I took her towards
\n the water. She didn’t even get wet but she cried and said
\n “cold, cold” when I carried her towards the water. Oh well.
\n Baby Lyndsey loved the water and the sand. She rolled around in
\n the sand, snuggled up to it, rubbed her face in the sand and
\n then laughed when her mommy brought her into the ocean. They
\n both even went under and Lyndsey was happy! Crazy baby :)<\/p>\n
<\/a>Possibly\n Eve and Lyndsey’s favorite part of the trip was the cabinet
\n under the TV (suitcase storage, we guessed). It was the perfect
\n little place for them to hide and made a nice little bench for
\n them to sit on. Made for hours of entertainment.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n

We came back late Sunday night. It
\n was really nice to have some girl time and a little one-on-one
\n with Eve. So rare these days. I’ll confess that I missed my
\n boys too :)<\/p>\n
<\/a>Eve in\n her new hat from The Children’s Place Outlet. It’s a little
\n big, but she picked it out and seemed to love it. She also
\n picked out a t-shirt for Lex that says “Whiz Kid” but he
\n doesn’t seem to love it. He doesn’t really love much of
\n anything new. Maybe she’ll wear it some day.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
