To the person who clipped the ad for Hogwarts Homecoming and gave it to Eve at school… thank you.\u00a0 I’ll confess, however, that “thank you” wasn’t my first thought when she brought it home, beaming from ear to ear about the event and the fact that someone had thought of her and clipped the ad and mysteriously given it to her.\u00a0 I had also seen the ad in the paper and NOT mentioned it to her.\u00a0 Intentionally.\u00a0 \u00a0It sounded like a lame “church basement” sort of event.\u00a0 No offense to church basement events, but I didn’t think it would entertain my child for long enough to be worth the drive.<\/p>\n

Boy was I wrong!\u00a0 The event took place across the whole village green, including multiple buildings.\u00a0 They had a chance to meet the snakes of Hogwarts, learn about owls, get a wand, make potions, visit Honeydukes, do a scavenger hunt, and more.\u00a0 I was amazed at how many grownups were there!\u00a0 Everyone was encouraged to wear costumes, and the volunteers looked great!\u00a0 I was impressed by the amount of thought was put in to the event and the attention to detail.\u00a0 It was a lot of fun!\u00a0 Eve and I were exhausted by the end!<\/p>\n

Honeydukes (again) for butterbeer. They were the first time we went through. Can you tell she’s wearing down? Can you read the posters on the back wall?<\/p><\/div>\n

They even put thought into the decorations in the bathroom!<\/p><\/div>\n

We passed Farm-Way on the way home!\u00a0 I’ve always seen the ads and heard the rave reviews, so we decided to stop and check it out.\u00a0 It’s a big store that has lots of stuff.\u00a0 Including chairs for sitting in.\u00a0 We were tired.<\/p>\n

Eve dozed the whole way home!<\/p>\n

What an unexpectedly fun day!\u00a0 So thank you, again, to the mysterious stranger who cut out that ad and gave it to Eve.\u00a0 I take back all the negative thoughts I had about you initially. :)\u00a0 We plan to go back again next year, with friends!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
