The pond is surrounded by trees and there are trails all around. There is a cute little &#8220;house&#8221; in the middle, that (I think) was used to monitor water levels. My friend and I used to hike there a lot and on a <a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=7715\">Mother&#8217;s Day hike<\/a> one year (OMG, look at how skinny I was back then!!) I even took an <a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=7761\">awesome photo<\/a> there that ended up in the newspaper! Sadly the dam was structurally failing and there wasn&#8217;t enough money in the budget to fix it, so the town had to drain the reservoir. I stopped by there today to check it out and I was blown away with the changes! It looks so destroyed!
