{"id":13098,"date":"2015-04-06T16:36:39","date_gmt":"2015-04-06T21:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=13098"},"modified":"2015-04-06T16:55:27","modified_gmt":"2015-04-06T21:55:27","slug":"easter-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=13098","title":{"rendered":"Easter weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a busy weekend!&nbsp; Easter fell just after Eve&#8217;s birthday so we did a little celebrating of both.&nbsp; Friday afternoon we had friends over to play (and my bestie over for tea!), Rosy came to visit, and Alan and I went to a late-night dinner party.&nbsp; We were all tired by the end of Friday, but that was just the beginning.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351202102.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351202102\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351202102.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">First tree climb of the season, I think.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Saturday included a trip to GemStar, cake baking, egg decorating, painting, and more.&nbsp; Then Alan brought home a movie and is grownups were up until midnight! That made two nights in a row!&nbsp; <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351223343.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351223343\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351223343.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rosy was in need of a few original pieces of artwork so she commissioned two little painters.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351279848.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351279848\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351279848.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boring mommy made them move to the table because painting on the floor was just too messy!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351260938.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351260938\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351260938.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">While they painted I did a little creative work of my own. <\/p><\/div>\n<p>Oh yes, and Easter basket filling, of course! <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351410379.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351410379\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351410379.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pretty table, all ready for Easter morning.. <\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351422347.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351422347\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351422347.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">I like my own decorations.  :-)  I was excited to find these sugar eggs on Etsy.  I have find memories of them in my own Easter basket as a child, and the eternal question as to whether or not to eat them.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sunday was Easter, so we started the day with candy for breakfast.&nbsp; Of course. The egg hunts, a trip to the playground, a little birthday party, and early bedtimes! <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351461548.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351461548\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351461548.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">There was no question for Eve.  Sugar?  Eat it!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351482471.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351482471\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351482471.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">We had the usual Easter egg hunts.  The kids still love looking for eggs!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351518922.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351518922\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351518922.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">My masterpiece!  Eve&#39;s final cake for this birthday. As usual it was an ever evolving project.  I love how it came out. <\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351569558.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351569558\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351569558.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">We did a few outdoor egg hunts as well, but it was chilly out there!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351591558.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351591558\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351591558.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">There is still a fair amount of snow on the ground too! We were hiding eggs in snow banks.  <\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351602275.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351602275\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351602275.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daisy ran from window to window trying to keep track of everybody outside.  <\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351617992.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351617992\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351617992.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daddy attack!  :-)<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351636379.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351636379\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351636379.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mad dash for an egg Alan hid up high.  :-)<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351654845.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351654845\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351654845.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Good thing Rosy was here.  She took us on a walk to the playground to shoot some hoops.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351666372.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351666372\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351666372.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aunt Katie and Popcube came over for awhile to hang out and eat cake.  Eve was pretty wound up by this point!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351681920.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351681920\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351681920.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">This giant slab of cake didn&#39;t help matters much.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351692904.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351692904\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351692904.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">It&#39;s not perfect, but I&#39;m pretty proud of how the cake turned out.  I love the vivid colors!  Rainbow parties are great!<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351706487.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"wp-1428351706487\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\"  alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/wpid-wp-1428351706487.jpeg\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alan sliced it in an odd way.  This looks like a cake tunnel.
