{"id":12253,"date":"2014-07-27T17:37:14","date_gmt":"2014-07-27T22:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=12253"},"modified":"2014-07-27T17:42:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-27T22:42:03","slug":"my-20th-high-school-reunion-aka-feeling-old-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=12253","title":{"rendered":"My 20th High School Reunion (aka: feeling old this weekend)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So much to blog about and so little time!\u00a0 I have a few minutes so here&#8217;s a quick update!<\/p>\n<p>This weekend was my 20th high school reunion.\u00a0 In true small-town style we held it at the local lake with kids and families.\u00a0 It was fun.\u00a0 Of course, with that came a trip to the ol&#8217; homestead. I took sporadic photos this trip, so here&#8217;s a sampling of our weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The kids discovered AWESOME new Lego sets waiting for them when we arrived. They were psyched.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12254\" style=\"width: 385px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2464.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12254\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12254\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2464-375x500.jpg\" alt=\"legos\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2464-375x500.jpg 375w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2464-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2464-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12254\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thanks Mema!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Saturday morning we went out to breakfast at a new caf\u00e9 in town.\u00a0 It was delicious, and they had a lovely outdoor area.\u00a0 We ate inside because it was a chilly morning, but Eve and Grandpa Tom enjoyed the patio after breakfast.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12255\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2466.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12255\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12255\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2466-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"breakfast\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2466-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2466-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2466-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12255\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grandpa Tom and Eve enjoying a quiet moment.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My reunion was a the lake and I took only a few pictures, all of Eve.\u00a0 There are plenty of pics from others on Facebook, so if you care enough you can find them there.\u00a0 Otherwise just imagine a dozen or so FCS grads 20 years later.\u00a0 Family, kids, BBQ, etc.\u00a0 Good times all around.\u00a0 Eve made fast friends with the daughter of one of my old high school friends.\u00a0 It&#8217;s like these two were cut from the same cloth.\u00a0 A wild and wonderful cloth!\u00a0 At one point in the day her friend asks me, &#8220;So, are you her aunt or her grandma?&#8221;\u00a0 Nothing like a candid 5yr old to make you feel old&#8230;
