{"id":12121,"date":"2014-07-11T14:04:27","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T19:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=12121"},"modified":"2014-07-11T14:04:27","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T19:04:27","slug":"arizona-trip-hotel-and-the-childrens-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=12121","title":{"rendered":"Arizona trip (hotel and the children&#8217;s museum)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second full day we were in Arizona started a touch later than the <a title=\"Arizona trip (flying and the aquarium)\" href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/?p=12085\">first day<\/a>, but still pretty early.\u00a0 The kids and I did some exploring around our hotel while we waited for the pool to open.\u00a0 I had a phone interview that morning, so I wanted to stay close by until that was done.\u00a0 Our hotel was neat because all of the doors opened to the outside (motel-like) and it had a very irregular layout.\u00a0 It made for great exploring.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12123\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1854.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12123\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12123\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1854-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"pool area\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1854-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1854-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1854-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12123\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Here&#8217;s a view of the pool area from a few floors up. Our room was on the ground floor, right near the pool gate. I didn&#8217;t even notice they had limes on them until we got to an upper level and had a close-up view.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After our walk I let the kids swim while I had my interview.\u00a0 It seemed pretty perfect to me, but I didn&#8217;t get the job and therefore maybe not the best interview location.\u00a0 At one point I lost my train of thought completely when Eve went under and didn&#8217;t come back.\u00a0 Fortunately she did come back moments later and fortunately I was interviewing with people I knew, so it was easy to explain the temporary lose of attention.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12125\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1856.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12125\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12125\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1856-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"pool girl\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1856-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1856-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1856-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12125\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Silly kids. Apparently a different color each day. When we were there it was pink. Kids were given smocks, a big paintbrush (like you&#8217;d use for a house, not for water colors on paper) and a big bucket of pink paint. The castle had lots of things stuck to it as well, giving it some texture and detail. We sat by the window overlooking an outdoor play area that was way to hot to play on! You put colored scarves in holes at the bottom and the air pushes the scarves through the tubes and shoots them out holes at the top. Then the kids jump and scramble to catch the scarves as they float down. This lady in stripes was grabbing them all first and handing them out to her group of kids. Not cool!<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_12142\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1910.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12142\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12142\" src=\"http:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1910-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"legs\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1910-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1910-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/familyblog.datdec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_1910-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12142\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Legs hanging out of a boat. We ended up back at the climbing structure at the end of the day and this caught my eye. Kids peek their head out the top and legs hanging below (not real legs!).
